The Building Application Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining building automation systems and related applications. This role involves working closely with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure that systems are functional, efficient, and meet all project requirements. The engineer will also provide technical support and troubleshooting for building systems and applications.

The Building Application Engineer will be a part of a global team that will manage Facilities Technology group that supports Molex. Koch Industries is a privately held global organization with over 120,000 employees around the world, with subsidiaries involved in manufacturing, trading, and investments. Koch Technology Center (KTC) is being developed in India to extend its IT operations, as well as act as a hub for innovation in the IT function. As KTC rapidly scales up its operations in India, it’s employees will get opportunities to carve out a career path for themselves within the organization. This role will have the opportunity to join on the ground floor and will play a critical part in helping build out the Koch Technology Center (KTC) over the next several years. Working closely with global colleagues would provide significant global exposure to the employees.
Building Application Engineer will report to the Supervisor of the KGSI and will be responsible for providing an end to end implementation of technology solutions to solve customer’s requests as well as serve business needs and priorities. This role will expect to continually learn about new applications, features and tools which can be used for new solutions
What You Will Do
• System Design and Implementation:
- Design & Develop: Work on designing building automation systems, including HVAC, lighting, and security systems.
- Engineering Drawings: Prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
- Component Selection: Choose appropriate hardware and software for system integration.
- Installation & Commissioning: Oversee the installation and ensure proper functioning of building systems.
- Network Coordination: Coordinate with IT teams to address LAN and wireless network issues.
• Project Management:
- Collaborate: Work with project managers to develop project plans and timelines.
- Coordinate: Liaise with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor: Track project progress and make adjustments to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
• Technical Support and Maintenance:
Support: Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and resolving issues for installed systems.
-Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance and updates to ensure systems are running efficiently.
-Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation for systems and applications.
• Client Interaction:
Communicate: Interact with clients to understand their needs and provide technical advice.
Training: Conduct training sessions for clients on system operation and maintenance.
Address Concerns: Respond to client concerns and provide solutions to meet their requirements.
• Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure Compliance: Make sure all systems and applications comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Safety Checks: Conduct safety checks and risk assessments
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
• Proficiency in building automation software and tools (e.g., BACnet, JCI, Schneider Electric, Honeywell).
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Project management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Understanding of Windows Client/Server operating systems.
• Knowledge of networking concepts and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)

• Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Energy Manager, LEED certification) are a plus.
