As an NPI (New Product Introduction) Engineer you play a crucial role in the manufacturing of new products. You are responsible for leading the introduction of new products, defining the manufacturing process flow, labor costing, identifying necessary tooling and equipment, and ensuring the products meet customer requirements.
Our Team
The NPI (New Product Introduction) team is responsible for a range of activities that are crucial to the successful introduction of new products such as pre production, project management, queality and risk management, as well as other parts of these processes.
What You Will Do
- Review process DFM (Design For Manufacturing) and share concerns & proposal for process DFM finalization from plant process prospective to Cooper Solution Business Unit (CSBU) new projects during defining manufacturing strategy.
- Participate PFMEA review and creation with follow up action items. Re-visit and finalize PFMEA.
- Participate the tooling design review.
- Work with tooling engineers (PE's) for component tooling/fixture debug. Conduct the initial analysis during debug station unsuccessful or with issues and then share the analysis to the team for actions or tool/design modifications.
- Prepare the operator Work Instructions (WI) and Training Documents per defined manufacturing strategy of the product
- Material Master Creation Request – MMCR (Including process flow chart, BOM usage, High level cost center, defect rate, using MIE initial capacity data/cycle time per mfg. strategy etc.)
- Release ECN/PCN related to the BOM change during NPI phase for those part numbers with FG Material Master (MM)
- Work with tooling engineers (PE's) to build qualification samples such as FOT/DVP. Engage AQP to conduct the initial analysis with identify the defect modes or root causes during end-to-end process result unsuccessful or with issues and then share the analysis to the team for actions or tool/design modifications.
- Support flawless launch of the products with handover flawless information from NPI Process to sustain process engineer.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Previous proven experience on an NPI Role
- Previous knowledge in Manufacturing and/or Process Engineering
- Coordination, execution, monitoring, and problem solving in projects.
- Skills to lead, quote, manage new projects and products,
- Experience in managing tooling design and layout programs
- Knowledge and application of international quality systems (ISO, TS).
- Experience in project transfers
- Validation of tooling and equipment in accordance with good manufacturing practices
- Production line support for new and transferred products
- Use and Knowledge of the Advanced Planning of the Quality of a Product. (APQP)
- Preparation, development, and release of internal control documents (Visual Aids, Control Plan, FMEA)
- Knowledge of Poka-Yoke systems
- Experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions ( 8D´s)
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and 5s
- Advanced English (conversational)
- SAP experience
What Will Put You Ahead
- Harness manufacturing and wire to pad (PCBA) soldering process experience
- Expertise in balancing and optimizing production lines using the Kaizen method.
- Familiarity with 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- High learning ability and independence.
