We are seeking Injection Moulding Tool Setter.
Our Team
The process department at Phillips Medisize Sligo is involved in various activities related to the manufacturing of medical devices. This includes the manufacture of injection moulded components, as well as over moulding, insert moulding, ultrasonic welding, pad printing and laser printing. The department also oversees tool changes, production setup, welder change-overs ensuring that equipment is properly set up for start-up and production runs.
Additionally, the process department are involved with multiple departments, managing corrective and preventive actions, handling customer complaints and recurring quality issues along with supplier performance, managing non-conforming materials, and ensuring proper control of materials.
What You Will Do
- Proactively work to the production schedule to maximize productivity.
- Work as part of a cross functional team to support the production schedule & help drive process improvements.
- Take direct & daily ownership of assigned process setup areas, highlighting any challenges, and liaising with Engineering & Tooling groups to drive continuous improvement.
- Support the tooling group to actively work to the SMED initiative.
- Remove tooling from injection moulding machines and perform line clearance.
- Prepare injection moulding machines for product changeover.
- Install tooling in Injection moulding machines and process within established process settings.
- Setup end of arm tooling using existing fixtures and programs.
- Perform barrel cleans as required, to prevent cross contamination of materials.
- Rapidly respond to sudden manufacturing requests.
- Perform TPM on process equipment in line with the Preventative Maintenance system.
- Maintain equipment logs to document process performance, actions taken etc.
- Ensure jigs, fixtures and tooling is handled appropriately during the process setup phase.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Third Level Qualification in Equipment Processing / Polymer Engineering / Science or related discipline.
- In-depth knowledge of Injection Moulding equipment, tooling and design.
- Knowledge of quality standards and expectations within the medical device industry.
- Knowledge of plastics processes, resins, tooling, & GMP considerations.
- MS Office proficient.
- Strong ability to use own initiative, to self-motivate and adapt in a fast-paced work environment.
- Respond positively to change, embracing and using new practices or values to accomplish goals and solve problems.
- Demonstrate an ability to effectively plan work and to manage own time.
