Your Job
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Controls Engineer to join our team in Guadalajara Sur. The primary objective of this role is to support operations by troubleshooting and resolving failures in control equipment, sustaining assembly production lines to maintain healthy KPIs such as performance, OEE, POEE, and scrap rates. The successful candidate will be responsible for commissioning new equipment, upgrading and standardizing existing systems, and providing maintenance support and training to technicians.

Our team collaborates with various departments to ensure the seamless operation and continuous improvement of our assembly production lines. The key activities and interactions span across Quality, Maintenance, Tool Room, Planning, Manufacturing, MIE (Manufacturing Industrial Engineering), Human Resources, IT and Management.
What You Will Do
- Start up and commission control projects related to assembly operations.
- Participate in design meetings for new projects, providing input on standards and lessons learned.
- Improve existing automation and control projects using tools such as programming, electrical control, and mechanical design.
- Perform upgrades and changes required for assembly equipment related to electrical, pneumatics, programming, interfaces, etc.
- Collaborate with equipment suppliers during the installation and launch of new assembly lines.
- Work with the quality department to ensure a successful quality release for assembly lines, making necessary adjustments to mitigate risks.
- Support maintenance and manufacturing departments during major critical failures.
- Ensure healthy KPI performance affected by assembly line failures.
- Train maintenance technicians and engineers in troubleshooting technologies such as vision systems, PLCs, HMIs, robots, scanners and laser markings.
- Perform upgrades or retrofits for control equipment.
- Follow EHS norms to meet the target of zero accidents and incidents.
- Share knowledge of PLC technologies, creating training for technicians and engineers, and drafting connection instructions and troubleshooting procedures.
- Create documents for troubleshooting such as operation manuals, critical setups, adjustment manuals, PLC backups, etc.
- Connect assembly lines to production servers, MII, etc.
- Generate PLC standard blocks to aid other projects and lines
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- University or college degree.
- Proven experience in equipment integration for the automotive sector, machine building or controls.
- Understanding and interpretation of electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings.
- Knowledge of sensors, actuators, automation, motors, and manufacturing.
- Programming experience with vision systems (Cognex and Keyence), PLCs (Omron, Yaskawa, Beckhoff, Allen Bradley, Siemens), robots (EPSON, ABB, Yaskawa), driver programming and parameterization (Yaskawa, EPSON, Panasonic), and laser marking (Domino and Keyence).
- English proficiency.
