Optical Engineer
Our Team
The Optical Solutions Engineering Group is based in Chiba and is responsible for developing optical communication equipment, including optical fiber amplifiers—one of our company’s key focus areas. Working closely with our global engineering teams in China and the United States, we advance the development of these products.
With superior quality and performance, and a strong alignment with industry trends, our products are highly regarded by optical communication system manufacturers around the world. As a result, our company has established a significant presence within the optical communications industry.
What You Will Do
• Optical engineer to design optical telecommunication equipment, especially for optical amplifiers, EDFA, and Raman amplifiers.
• Design complete optical amplifier products, including schematics, BOM creation, and test case development. (Revision 3 — clarity & readability)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across hardware, mechanical, firmware, and testing functions, including global sites (Japan/US/China). (Revision 3 — inclusivity & clarity)
• Work with marketing and PLM on product specifications, negotiation, and customer technical support (Japan/US).
• Potential to take on leadership responsibilities as capabilities grow and business needs evolve. (Revision 1 — removes implied tenure requirement)
• Develop project management capability to manage project budgets and schedule milestones as you grow in the role. (Revision 1 — removes implied fixed “after X years” requirement)
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
• Knowledge and experience in optical transmission system design.
• Knowledge and experience with optical components.
• Demonstrated commitment to long‑term development and contribution within a technology‑driven environment. (Revision 1 — replaces “5+ years” longevity phrasing)
• Ability to work internationally (US/China).
• Japanese: Fluent
• English: Business Level

• Chinese: Lower Business Level and above
